 First Aid Courses Minimize

Note: The course on 19/20th is now confirmed and there are still places available, funded by the club for financial members. The more the merrier though, so please get in contact with Ian if you can make it.

I have a list club members interested in doing first aid courses and refresher courses, but let me know if you’re interested because it’s still in the planning stage. Please remember this offer is for paid up members of the WWCC, if you are not then you can get it sorted by contacting Chee Chang on membership@whitewater.org.nz

I have spoken to the Red Cross and they are able to run a First Aid course on the weekend of 19th and 20th of September (8.30-4.30) in Christchurch. The next available weekend would be early October. I need to get at least 10 people on this to make this viable, but we can have up to 20. If we can do this we then have the ability to tailor it to kayaking; using some kayak gear, group knowledge and group discussion. Even if you are only in need of a refresher this may still be an option if you can spare a weekend.  If we need to look at October we will, but September is the preferred option.

If we do get this off the ground and there are people who are keen but are not able to be part of this group you can still do individual First aid or refresher courses through Red Cross with WWCC funding assistance. It’s better for the club if we can get a group together though.

Please contact me ASAP on instructor@whitewater.org.nz so we can make some decisions.

Cheers
Ian
